The Machine does not accept any deal and the Samaritan brings chaos and havoc to New York on the next day forcing The Machine to talk to the Samaritan. Root goes to a school at New Rochelle, to meet the avatar of the Samaritan, the boy Gabriel Hayward. Meanwhile, the life of MI-6 Agent John Greer in 1973 is disclosed when he learns that his chief is a double-agent from KGB.
