This film starts well but disintegrates into a complete hotchpotch of sheer nastiness and plot ridiculousness.
The acting from Sydney Sweeney is good and holds the film together somewhat but some of those around her are just poor.
The main plot is beyond ludicrous and doesn't stack up at all. Why are there nuns with red faces, how on earth did she get pregnant? Why can she speak Italian sometimes and not others. Why the branding and torture - none of it made the plan more likely to succeed.
I just found this torturous and nasty to watch. The violence wasn't earned and the dream jump scares served zero purpose.
I think this was aiming for a "St Maud" level of horror sophistication - sadly it was more like "Carry On Evil" .
