This was the very first Broken Saints episode I ever saw in my life, being hooked almost instantly.
I remember being quite impressed by it, due its stylish comic book-esque animation and mysterious atmosphere.
Watching the original online version makes me feel glad the first episodes of the series were completely redone for the DVD release: The art was nowhere as impressive, lacking of the great atmosphere the remade version had. In addition to that, the excellent voice acting elevated the text considerably, with a great performance by Kirby Morrow.
However, it must be said the series had a great soundtrack from the very beginning, which makes me lament Tobias Tinker isn't a more well known composer: His work in Broken Saints largely surpasses the dull, derivative music from many recent Hollywood blockbusters.
My vote for the original online version of the second episode is 6/10.
I rate the final DVD version 8.5/10.
