- In one scene, Frank Sinatra's character has to amputate the leg of a wounded soldier before the soldier dies, the soldier's scream is loud.
- A woman runs behind a tree and we see a large explosion come from behind the tree, and it is obvious that she was killed.
- The ending firefight is very shocking, considering all the men who are killing each other had previously become good friends.
