Dark Horse Comics' Hellboy in Hell may have concluded its run, but there are still many adventures ahead for the beloved (and feared) demon. This week marks the release of Hellboy in Hell: The Death Card Volume 2, and in the future, readers will be treated to several epic comic book stories within Mike Mignola's immersive universe, including Hellboy: Into the Silent Sea, a new graphic novel that is teased in our exclusive set of preview pages ahead of the story's release next year.
In addition to Hellboy: Into the Silent Sea, 2017 will also see the release of The Visitor: How and Why He Stayed, a new comic book series featuring Hellboy and enigmatic aliens (that alone should have readers anxiously awaiting February's arrival).
To learn more about both of these projects, we have their official press releases with full details, below, as well as a teaser video...

There aren’t a lot of horror and sci-fi titles arriving on Blu-ray and DVD this Tuesday (there are four, to be exact), but the few we do have to look forward to are an eclectic and entertaining bunch nonetheless. Scream Factory is giving HD overhauls to both Death Becomes Her and the cult classic Sssssss this week, and Christmas is coming a bit early this year by way of Michael Dougherty’s Krampus, which hits Blu-ray and DVD on April 26th. Our last release for this week is a pair of 1970s underground classics, Crypt of the Living Dead and House of the Living Dead, which arrive together on DVD courtesy of Vinegar Syndrome.
Death Becomes Her (Scream Factory, Blu-ray)
An actress and an author fight over a plastic surgeon and the secret of eternal beauty. Directed by Robert Zemeckis.

(1973, dir: Julio Salvador & Ray Danton)
“The Undead Dies…Again, Again And Again!”
One night whilst snooping round a luxurios island villa, archaeologist Professor Bolton (Mariano García Rey, Shaft in Africa) is attacked by crazed writer Peter (Mark Damon, Black Sabbath). Bolton is left for dead under a tomb. When his son Chris (Andrew Pine, The Town That Dreaded Sundown) finds out about the fate of his father, he visits the island to say his goodbyes. He is greeted by Peter who is playing the nice guy card. Once settled and with the help of the mysterious locals, Chris and Peter begin to open the tomb belonging to Hannah (Teresa Gimpera, Lips of Blood), who according to local folklore was the vampiric wife of Louis VII. Once opened, they discover the still fresh corpse of Hannah (who looks damn good considering she’s been buried for 700 years!

His name is synonymous with Hellboy, but for five issues this spring Mike Mignola will be stepping away from Hellboy to visit with one of the greatest monsters in history: Frankenstein. In Frankenstein Underground, a five issue mini-series from Dark Horse, the monster finds himself at an ancient temple in Mexico and endears to make a friend before things go (inevitably) wrong. Mignola chatted with us about his version of the monster and its relationship to the original novel, as well as his general creative process when writing for artist Ben Stenbeck. Plus, we couldn’t resist asking about Hellboy In Hell, just a little. And beer.
Famous Monsters. Frankenstein Underground is a new spinoff from the Hellboy graphic novel House Of The Livind Dead. What do you think it is about Mary Shelley’s creation that has made people develop so many iterations of him? People are always writing and talking about him.

Comics and all closely-related creative works in the geek spectrum are celebrated in the Eagle Awards 2012 - with the final round of voting now open to the public.
It's a chance to pick your favourite artist, writer, colourist, letterer, editor, publisher, story, graphic novel and comics magazine, along with American, British, European and manga titles.
But it goes beyond the printed page. There will be trophies for best web-based comic and comics website, while a further accolade will honour the best comics-related TV show or movie.
All the nominations are listed in full below.
It's apparent that the TV/film nominations do not necessarily have to be adapted from a comic. The contenders in this category are: The Big Bang Theory, The Walking Dead, X-Men; First Class, Captain America and Misfits.
The Big Bang Theory isn't derived from a comic but features four characters who are keen fans of comics and sci-fi culture.

It has always been a point of contention among people interested in comic books of where they should start. There are so many back issues and previous story arcs that it's very intimidating to anyone that isn't familiar with a property.
As a result of this, Marvel started their "Point One" plan giving readers a lone issue in a series that could catch them up on what they'd miss and give them the perfect jump off point to continue reading the series. And DC? Well, if you haven't heard of the "New 52" reboot you've been living under a rock. But what about other comics? None of them have yet offered people a place in the middle to start reading, it's like they want you to read the series like everyone else and go to the beginning.
But I am here to say that Hellboy: House of the Living Dead is...

Mike Mignola has announced plans to write an original Hellboy graphic novel. Hellboy: House Of The Living Dead will feature artwork from Richard Corben and serve as a sequel to the one-shot Hellboy In Mexico. "As the story starts, [Hellboy] has become a wrestler. There's a beautiful opening sequence of Hellboy in the ring, tossing other Mexican wrestlers around. And then he's hired to fight somebody's champion," Mignola told Cbr.
