Whitney Way Thore is an influencer, so My Big Fat Fabulous Life critics roasted her for putting out the wrong message about animal cruelty. Certainly, it’s not the first time that she found criticism for that sort of thing. Read on to find out what got TLC fans so upset this week.
Mbffl Whitney Way Thore Slammed For Cruelty To Her Dog
During the last season of Mbffl, Glenn Thore went off to the funeral home to check out Babs Thore’s plaque. After his wife passed away, his daughter seemed to want to always be there, but she came over as too controlling. So, off she went in her car to find him, and she took her pup along. Sharp-eyed critics noticed that she put the dog in her car with the windows closed. So, she got ripped for that.

Another group of car enthusiasts won't get a chance to fulfill their childhood dreams. Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge has been cancelled, so there won't be a second season of the NBC show. The first season's 10 episodes finished airing in August.
A competition series, the Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge TV show is hosted by car aficionado Rutledge Wood and inspired by Mattel’s Hot Wheels toy car collection. In each episode, two car superfans enter the Chrome Zone, where they will face off, transforming an ordinary vehicle into the life-sized Hot Wheels of their dreams, inspired by personal stories and pop culture touchstones. The two superfans, working alongside a team of automotive magicians called "The Car Pool," create their designs in high-tech, decked-out garages. The winner of each episode takes home $25,000 and the chance to get into the...

Earlier this month, we shared the news that Anchor Bay Entertainment – which used to be a major player in the horror world back in the late ’90s and early 2000s, when they gave DVD releases to films like the Evil Dead trilogy, George A. Romero’s Dead trilogy, the Sleepaway Camp franchise, The Hills Have Eyes, The Car, Maniac, Prom Night, some of the Hellraisers, Halloweens, and much more – is being revived, with their first two releases puppet horror film Abruptio and Dinner with Leatherface, a documentary that looks at the life, career, and legacy of original Leatherface actor Gunnar Hansen. Now we’ve learned that the new Anchor Bay has acquired the North American rights to the horror/comedy Crust, with the plan being to release it sometime later this year.

After working on episodes of TV series like “The Twilight Zone,” “Naked City” and “Route 66,” Silverstein made his feature directorial debut in 1965 with “Cat Ballou,” which starred Jane Fonda and Lee Marvin. Silverstein suggested Marvin play Kid Shelleen when Kirk Douglas turned down the role in the Western comedy. When a producer wanted to replace Marvin with José Ferrer, Silverstein threatened to quit. Marvin ended up winning an Oscar for his role in the film.
Silverstein went on to direct the Anthony Quinn-led “The Happening,” “A Man Called Horse,” starring Richard Harris, and the cult classic “The Car” with James Brolin. He was also integral in forming the Bill of Creative Rights for directors.

The 1970s: A time when vinyl wasn’t just a hipster trend, lava lamps lit up rooms with their hypnotic glow, and horror movies? Well, they were in a league of their own, especially the underrated 70s horror movies that have remained hidden gems over the decades. This was a decade that redefined cinema, pushing boundaries and daring to venture into the dark, unexplored corners of the human psyche. While the big names like The Exorcist and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre were making waves and scaring audiences worldwide, there was an undercurrent of films that, though lesser-known, packed just as much punch.
At Nightmare on Film Street, we’re all about digging up those hidden treasures, the unsung heroes of horror that might’ve slipped under the radar but deserve a standing ovation. So, pop on your platform shoes, slap on some groovy tunes, and join us as we...

Adam Driver, Patrick Dempsey and Michael Mann gave an octane boost of star power to the 80th Venice Film Festival Thursday night, with their car racer biopic Ferrari welcomed warmly by the Lido audience.
Driver plays the legendary Italian car maker Enzo Ferrari in the period drama, which co-stars Penélope Cruz as his wife Laura Ferrari and Shailene Woodley as Ferrari’s mistress and the mother of his second son, Pierro.
Pierro Ferrari was in the audience Thursday night, enjoying the raptous reception from the Venice crowd, which gave the film a good seven minute standing ovation, with Driver obviously moved by the response.
The film focuses in on a turning point in the auto magnate’s life — caught between the dual lives he is leading with his wife and mistress—and in the history of his car company, which is close to bankruptcy. Ferrari decides to bet everything on a treacherous 1,000-mile open-road race.

Count The Hives among Arctic Monkeys’ legions of fans. In a new interview with NME, singer Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist shouted out the English rockers as “the only good really popular band” around these days.
“I think the Arctic Monkeys are fucking amazing,” Almqvist said. “Like, that’s the only good really popular band, and that’s not easy to do.”
The singer’s praise comes after The Hives supported Arctic Monkeys on a recent tour of the UK, marking a full circle moment for the bands; Almqvist revealed that the English rockers were inspired by his band and The Strokes in their early days as a group, and the two previously toured together a decade ago, before the Hives went on hiatus. “It’s a really great tour to be on,” he said. Watch the band’s new NME interview below; their comments regarding Arctic Monkeys begin around the 2:30 mark.

Glaive’s debut studio album, I Care So Much That I Don’t Care at All, is bound to make listeners feel a sense of unpleasant voyeurism, filled as it is with grim musings from the 18-year-old about suicide, fentanyl, and general teenage alienation, all slickly packaged for alternative-pop radio. On “Barbie Doll,” he at least appears aware of this development in his discography, admitting that he fears he’s becoming “a commodity.”
Glaive’s mumble rap-inspired voice is limited in range and quality, but the rough edges help capture his feelings of despondency and angst. On “Titziana,” he bitterly lashes out at an ex who betrayed him: “Fuck all the times you left me out to dry/I never got the chance to ask you why,” while “Are You Bipolar One or Two” describes the anxiety he’s experienced during his rise to fame. Glaive, who recently came out as bisexual,...

Arctic Monkeys performed their 2006 song “A Certain Romance” for the first time in 10 years at a show in their hometown of Sheffield, England on Friday.
Much like “Mardy Bum,” another track from Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not that Arctic Monkeys have revived lately, the band opened their set with “A Certain Romance,” much to the delight of those in attendance. It marked the first time Alex Turner and the rest of the band have performed the song together since 2013.
The return to Arctic Monkeys’ earlier catalog comes as they also promote The Car, their 2022 record that was more in the vein of 2018’s loungey Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino rather than their rollicking aughts offerings. The band’s UK tour continues through June and includes a headlining spot at Glastonbury; in August, they’ll head to the States for shows with support from Fontaines DC.

Arctic Monkeys kicked off their concert in Bristol, England, with a deep-cut fan favorite they haven’t properly performed in over 10 years: “Mardy Bum,” off their 2006 debut Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not.

The surge has been driven by high-selling releases from bands such as the Arctic Monkeys, and pop star Harry Styles.
According to new research from The British Phonographic Industry, sales of cassette tapes have risen for 10 consecutive years.
In 2012, the total number of cassette sales was just 3,823. In 2022, the annual figure had risen to 195,000.
However, cassette sales still lag far behind other formats, including vinyl records.
Also among the biggest selling cassette artists was Florence + the Machine. The best-selling cassette album of the year was The Car by Arctic Monkeys, released in October. Harry’s House by Styles followed in second place, while Florence + the Machine’s Dance Fever came in third.
Other artists to make the top 10 include Muse, Central Cee, Robbie Willimas, Blackpink, and Machine Gun Kelly.

The research also revealed that the Top 20 highest selling cassettes...

Arctic Monkeys are back with a new music video for “Sculptures of Anything Goes,” a standout track off their recent album The Car.
Directed by their frequent collaborator Ben Chappell and edited by Matthew Cronin, Arctic Monkeys’ “Sculptures of Anything Goes” video plays into the track’s retro, psych-rock aesthetic with grainy film footage and kaleidoscopic visuals. Most of the clips were filmed during the band’s recent tour throughout Australia and South America, which seems to tie in to the song’s globetrotting lyrics like “performing in Spanish on Italian TV.”
There’s not much of a plot to the clip, but one thing’s for sure: Alex Turner looks extremely cool. Watch Arctic Monkeys’ “Sculptures of Anything Goes” video below.

Ed Sheeran and Jessie Ware are among the performers confirmed to feature as part of a fundraising event in honour of Jamal Edwards’ charitable trust.
Edwards, an entrepreneur who founded music platform Sb:tv, died in February at the age of 31. A coroner’s report found that he suffered a fatal cardiac arrest after using cocaine and drinking alcohol.
The month after his death, Edwards’ family (including Loose Women panellist Brenda Edwards) set up the Jamal Edwards Self Belief Trust in order to “honour [Edwards’] memory and continue his legacy” through “[supporting] those causes that mattered most to Jamal”.
Some of the causes central to the Self Belief Trust’s ethos is combatting homelessness, supporting people with mental health issues and providing young people with essential life skills.

Arctic Monkeys’ frontman Alex Turner directed the band’s music video for their new single “There’d better be a Mirrorball”, it has emerged.
Released in the early hours of Tuesday morning (30 August), the single marks the Sheffield rock group’s first new music in four years.
The video begins with a divided kaleidoscope (or mirrorball) style shot of the frontman playing the piano with a light behind him.
The track’s title then comes up over the screen, before the shot changes to a close up of Turner looking straight into the camera.
It then moves on to show the band recording in a studio, each pictured separately, and then together in both black and white and colour film.

Reading and Leeds festival-goers have documented the “carnage” of the final day of the festival on TikTok.
Videos showing bonfires with tents and chairs set on fire have been circulating on social media.
TikTok users have expressed their frustration with the behaviour of attendees. “There’s always someone that has to ruin it,” one commenter said.
“There shouldn’t be Reading next year if this is how you lot are gonna behave,” said another.
In another video – captioned: “Pov it’s the last day of Reading and it’s absolute carnage” – people can be seen throwing objects at each other.
“It’s like a scene out of walking dead,” reads one comment, while someone else wrote: “I should add surviving purple camp to my cv lol”.

Jeff Carson, who had 14 songs make it onto the Billboard’s country music charts, died Saturday in a Franklin, Tn, hospital from a heart attack, his publicist said. He was 58.

A successful formula in horror is this: keep making what sells, but when the black ink begins to turn red, it may be time to tweak that formula. Come to think of it, “tweaking” may be a solid descriptor for Werewolves on Wheels (1971); this is a film that boasts not only bikers and werewolves, but a satanic cult behind it all! Can three genres and subgenres bump uglies and still provide coherent entertainment? Coherence? No. Entertainment? Most assuredly.
One could start with the title, getting the ball rolling on marketing, and as with most low budget bonanzas, delivering something not quite as good as one’s imagination. But recalibrated for that 1970s nihilistic molasses, it rides just fine.
Released in late November, WoW did well on the drive-in circuit and escaped critics’ wrath as just another second (or third) billed programmer. After all, the biker subgenre had been on fire...

There’s no way to precisely quantify the colossal amount of drugs Black Sabbath inhaled in 1972 while making their fourth album, which they’d hoped to title Snowblind, in tribute to their favorite powdered narcotic. All they have to go on is the bill their manager presented to them when they were done with it. “Whether you can believe him or not, the record cost, I think, $65,000,” bassist Geezer Butler says drolly, “and the cocaine bill was $75,000.”

"The only time I feel good is when I'm behind the wheels." 1091 Pictures has released an official US trailer for an indie drama titled Wheels, marking the feature directorial debut of Brooklyn-based filmmaker Paul Starkman. The project was successfully funded on Kickstater back in 2016, then originally premiered at the Woodstock Film Festival in 2018, and also played at the Kansas City FilmFest last year. It will finally be available to watch on VOD next month. Not to be confused with the 2014 indie film also titled Wheels, this Wheels is about a young DJ who confronts his family struggles in the streets of Brooklyn. Comedian / rapper Arnstar stars as Max, who dreams of a better future as a DJ. Also starring Shyrley Rodriguez, Joshua Boone, Ioan Delice, Al Thompson, J. Alphonse Nicholson, Lee Quinones, and Dorothi Fox as Grandma. The logo & title is a bit bland, but otherwise this looks good. Might...

In case you haven’t noticed, Netflix has this little feature which allows you to see which shows and films are most popular with audiences. Updated every day, these top ten lists give subscribers an overview of what various countries are watching. Of course, Netflix knew this information from the very beginning and it was precisely this informational edge that helped the streamer triumph over its competitors.
Usually, the lists are comprised of some pretty unsurprising entries. Recent toppers, for instance, include the Nickelodeon animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender, whose arrival on Netflix took the world by storm, as well as hit shows like Money Heist and 13 Reasons Why and popular films like Despicable Me and 365 Dni. Today, however, these standard entries are joined by a pretty unusual one, as rounding off the Top 10 movies list at the bottom spot in #10 is a little-known horror pic from 2013 titled Dark Skies.

He’s baaack! Fans of “This Is Us” were given a treat in March’s Season 4 finale when Gerald McRaney returned as fan-favorite Nathan Katowski, aka Dr. K, for the first time in two seasons.
