Below average and very inferior thriller about delinquency , youthful corruption , and drug smuggling
ma-cortes8 May 2022
Thrilling look at youthful delinquency in Spain of the 70s in exploitation style. This is the story of some nasty delinquents during the thunderous years of the ¨Spanish transition¨. A shy young man, Albert (Tony Isbert) , son of a wealthy person (Henry Gregor) , gets involved with sexually loose girls (Inés Morales , Celia Torres, and Gloria Hayworth reportedly Rita Hayworth's relative) and ominous drug dealers (Antonio Mayans , Eduardo Bea, 'Dum Dum' Pacheco) .

In this drama there is action , eroticism , pursuits , exploitation , rape , nudism , discoteque scenes , violence and sensationalism that undermine verisimilitude . A lousy look at young life and badness in the margined side let the story flow quick and being realized in realistic style but sometimes lacks credibility . This is a precedent to ¨Quinqui¨subgenre that achieved splendor in the Eighties with true delinquents usually played by ¨El Vaquilla¨ and Ángel Fernández Franco alias ¨El Torete¨, it told their lives like a legend , executing heists , ¨Tirones¨ and other crimes and misdemeanours . ¨Juventud drogada (1977)¨ is one of several movies dealing with youth delinquency in Spain , as during the 70s and early 80s were made a lot of films of this Quinqui sub-genre , mostly realized by Jose Antonio De La Loma , such as : ¨Los Ultimos Golpes del Torete¨ , ¨Yo el Vaquilla¨, along with ¨Navajeros , "Colegas", "El Pico 1¨ , 2" , ¨La Estanquera De Vallecas¨ by Eloy De La Iglesia and especially ¨Deprisa , Deprisa¨ by Carlos Saura , among others . These films were notorious in the years of the Spanish transition to democracy including provoking and polemic issues and played by unknown young people and real thieves who embark on armed robberies to raise the money that they need to their existence . Its style was pretty much urban and realistic as well in the atmosphere as in the fresh dialog and attempted to take a position in favor of outcast people . These young offenders had a very moving childhood filled with crimes and misdemeanors , and a dangerous adolescence along with dangerous youth . Drugs , delinquency , exclusion , unemployment and generational problems are the habitual subjects in these films and specially dedicated to the underworld of heroin and a very realistic look at drug addiction . Passing of time hasn't had mercy with most of those movies , but they represented a time and a way of life in the history of Spain ; and now they may seem a little bit naive . Juventud drogada (1977) stars Tony Isbert giving a functional acting as the naive young deceived by shady drug dealers ; Tony comes from a family of well-known actors and he has an acceptable cinematic career , being accompanied by ordinary ¨Destape¨ actresses as Inés Morales , Ivonne Sentis , Lone Fleming , and some familiar familiar faces, such as : Antonio Mayans who was Jesús Franco's regular , Eduardo Bea , María Vico , Marisa Porcel , Fabián Conde , 'Dum Dum' Pacheco, Eulália del Pino and Mariano Vidal Molina as Police Inspector .

It contains passable photography with juicy atmosphere by Rafael Pérez Cubero , but unfortunately turns too much murky in some video print , being necessary a perfect remastering . The motion picture was lousily directed by Jos Truchado . He was a B-actor , a second-class secondary who usually worked for director Jose Maria Zabalza in films as 20.000 dólares por un cadáver , Los rebeldes de Arizona , Plomo sobre Dallas , El regreso de Al Capone , Homicidios en Chicago , Tiempos de Chicago and other genre movies as La Batalla del Ultimo Panzer , El tesoro del capitán Tornado , La Esfinge de Cristal, El tesoro del capitán Tornado , Cover Girl , La carga de la policía montada , Marc Mato, agente S. 077 . And directing some often bad pictures , such as : Canción triste de... El equipo Aahhgg , Matad al buitre , Chicano , Eva, limpia como los chorros del oro , Haz la loca... no la guerra , Tarzán y el tesoro Kawana, Juventud drogada , some of them starred by John Ghaffari or Dum Dum Pacheco. Rating : 3/10 . Bottom of barrel.
