Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)

Marion's back is seen without a bra but her breasts are not shown. There is a scene where Marion kisses Indy in various places, mainly the face and arms, but it is very mild.

In the opening scene when Indy is running from angry natives, there is a brief shot where their behinds are shown due to their thin loinclothes.

In the beginning, before the bouldier comes after Indy, Indy sees that the man with him is drenched in blood. Before this happened they saw a dead body.

Indy shoots a man and later the blood is shown on the man's face.

Indy shoots someone while he's driving and blood is seen on the man's hand.

Later in this movie, a man is sliced by an airplane propeller. This is not shown, but you see blood splatter on the airplane.

When The Ark is opened, the groups of men are electricuted by lightning, and die.

In the end, you see two men's faces melt and one man's head explode.

This was originally "R" then switched back to "PG", but the only "real" R parts (back then anyways) was what happened to three of the men when the ark was opened and the men drenched in blood. The rest wouldn't be considered violent enough. All in all this should of been PG-13, but they didn't have that rating for back then. This and "Gremlins" helped people make a PG-13 rating.

Although infrequent language is very mild, and consist of words like "Goddamn", or, "What the Hell?".

Indy is shown drinking in a bar with the monkey. Marion is shown drinking in two other situations. A Nazi is shown smoking, where after he throws the cigarette in a pipe on a ship.

Two of the films stars were seen smoking. Karen Allen smokes during a scene in her bar in Nepal; Paul Freeman is seen smoking in a hookah bar in Cairo.

The first scene is very frightening and intense, where Indy finds a man drenched in blood and runs from a moving boulder, among other things. Indy and Marion are shown trying to escape from a room while snakes are threatening their lives. Marion becomes trapped in a room full of mummified corpses, which appear to move towards her. The final scene may be frightening for children where demons soak the life out of everyone who look at them.

There is also a scene in the movie, where a monkey is shown without its head.
