The follow-up to Ryan Coogler’s Academy Award-winning Black Panther still lies just beyond the horizon of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s fourth phase, and while rumors abound concerning who will be returning – both to the screen and potentially, the Internet would have us believe, from the dead – one of the film’s principal players remains uncertain about his role in the Wakandan saga.
Speaking at the TCA Winter Press Tour in promotion of his upcoming FX comedy Breeders, Martin Freeman admitted to journalists that while he’s “very intrigued as to what [his] character is going to be doing” in Black Panther 2, he has “literally no idea at all” what exploits Marvel Studios has in store for him.
The character in question is, of course, Everett Ross, who was first introduced on paper in issue #17 of the third volume of Ka-Zar in September of 1998, and made his big screen debut...

Last TCA, we were treated to the pilot episode of upcoming FX comedy “Breeders,” which stars Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard as the very imperfect parents of two young, impressionable children. This TCA, we got the trailer and a panel — and an explanation on how Freeman and his fellow co-creators handle the on-screen screaming and cursing at kid actors.
“There are actually rules…about what they can and can’t see and hear,” Freeman said on Thursday. “So obviously if there’s a lot of swearing, a lot of cursing in the scene, we do a cleaned-up dialogue version, and then once the kids have left then we get to do the swearing.”
“We try to keep it as fun as possible,” he continued. “But there are also times where you have to instill in them that this is a serious [scene], that you’re going to be on the receiving...

The return of “Atlanta” is still a long way off, but the wait between Seasons 3 and 4 just got a lot shorter. FX has renewed the Emmy-winning comedy series for an additional season, and announced Tuesday morning the upcoming Season 3 and newly added Season 4 will be shot together beginning in the spring of 2020.
“What more can be said about ‘Atlanta’ than the critical acclaim and accolades that Donald [Glover], Paul [Simms], Dianne [McGunigle], Stephen [Glover] and Hiro [Murai] have earned for two exceptional seasons of what is clearly one of the best shows on television,” Eric Schrier, president of FX Entertainment, said in a statement. “This group of collaborators and cast have created one of the most original, innovative stories of this generation and we are proud to be their partners.”
Season 3 was originally ordered on June 7, 2018, less than a month after Season 2 ended, but Glover’s busy schedule has delayed production until this point.

No other Martin Freeman-fronted project – be it a movie or TV show – has resonated with its viewers quite like Sherlock.
At least, that’s according to the man himself, who spoke to The Guardian (h/t Digital Spy) about the challenges of playing a character as iconic as Dr. John Watson, and why it’s nigh on impossible to please Sherlock fans.
Freeman has weighed in on the fandom debate before, and even got into hot water when his comments were blown out of proportion on Twitter, but now, the actor and former McU star focuses on the unrealistic expectations set by a small portion of fans, and why they have the potential to ruin the overall viewing experience.
Via The Guardian:
Probably nothing I’ve done… has resonated with certain parts of the world’s population the same way Sherlock has… It just hit a lot of buttons for people.

Commenting on the series Freeman said:
I’m excited to be making Breeders with a team that can make me laugh while we look at some of the less-discussed truths and challenges of being a parent. I really love this project and am delighted to be working with FX and Sky.”

The 1980s were filled many horror trends: endless sequels, crazy FX, creature features, satanic panics, and much more. But one of my favorite '80s subgenres has always been the New York City horrors. These were a grouping of horror films that took place in the city that never sleeps, with the city itself becoming a key plot point. Why was New York a reoccurring theme during this time? It provided the perfect environment for something horrible to happen right under the city’s unaware nose. Who has time to pay attention to C.H.U.D, driller killers, Frankhookers, and winged serpents named Q when the whole city is filled to the brim with crime, overcrowding, homeless, and general chaos? My personal fave of the '80s New York horror wave is a saucy little T&A creature feature called Breeders. After several women are raped in New York City,...

Charles Band, who currently runs Full Moon Features, started Wizard Video in 1980 and was a pioneer in the early days of the home video market. He specialized in horror flicks, and was responsible for first bringing titles like Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and I Spit on Your Grave to the home market.
During a recent warehouse cleaning, Band discovered a treasure trove of original, mint-condition VHS boxes. These are not the typical cardboard slipcovers most people think about when they think of VHS boxes (those of us old enough to remember VHS.) These are oversized boxes - some cardboard, some plastic clamshell boxes - that had a brief run in the early 1980s before everyone moved to the cheaper, smaller cardboard sleeves.
Band is now releasing these original cases with authentic VHS reproductions of the movies inside. Rolling out four a month for the next nine months, some of the...

As a child of the 80′s, the video store was my second home. There were a few shops here in St. Louis that carried some big box titles and among them, I always remembered Wizard Video. One of Wizard Video’s most notorious releases was I Spit on Your Grave. In the past few years, VHS tapes have become a collector’s item of sorts. Some people I know go crazy and try and collect all the VHS tapes they can find. I am a bit more selective with what I pick up (I tend to go for big boxes and releases that have some nostalgia for me). There is no doubt that there is still a market in VHS. Is it the best format to watch a film, no. However, there is a certain allure to watch a film on VHS. It feels more organic and feels dynamic and...

Nightmare After years of talk, it seems that the early 80's horror slasher Nightmare is inching even closer to a DVD release date. Code Red has been promising this title for years while fans have grown impatient. Last year, this title alone nearly bankrupted Code Red as compossing special features for the film started costing them an arm and leg. Somehow or another, Code Red managed to survive and now it seems that Code Red could finally be releasing this title sometime in July. This is all the more evident by an all new special feature Code Red has put together for the film.

Breeders is an interesting twist on the old school invasion theme. Plenty of New York’s virgin women are being accosted by mysterious strangers. Even worse, these bold confrontations quickly escalate into full blown rape. None of the sexual assault victims are killed, but there’s a downright terrifying man in a lubricated rubber suit running around randomly killing plenty of other New Yorkers (including a homeless woman… come on you heartless bastards). These women aren’t killed because, obviously - they’re carriers, just bodies with the sole purpose of reproduction. One of NYPD’s… finest, Detective Andriotti (Lance Lewman) enlists the assistance of Dr. Gamble Pace (Teresa Farley), who’s been monitoring the incoming rape victims, to aide him in solving this strange puzzle.
There are plenty of minor plot details that ultimately sew the loose fabrics together, but most of those details are so goofy they’re worth not reading about.
