  • The violence in this film is intense. The violence is not glorified.
  • A lot of war violence, including frequent shooting. The more graphic instances are mentioned below:

Profanity

  • 74 uses of "fuck" (some used sexually) and 70 uses of "shit" (along with at least 13 uses of "bullshit" and 1 use of "shitty"), along with at least 5 uses of "ass," 11 uses of "asshole" and "hell," 5 uses of "son of a bitch," 1 of "Jesus Christ," 1 use of "whore," a few uses of "cocksucker"

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The violence is intense and realistic. While there are brief scenes of dark comedy a lot of the film carries a very dark tone.
  • The first 45 minutes of the film is intense because of boot camp training, however it can be bit fuuny at times due to Gny. Sgt. Hartman's vulgarity.
  • The dehumanization of soldiers is a key theme throughout the movie, being shown to varying degrees.
  • This is a very dark and disturbing movie.
