Boring crap
CooperCom3 December 1999
This movie was really boring and stupid. I really don't understand why they make movies like this one. This stuff is more suitable for theater than cinema, and even then I had really doubted that this have survived for a very long time. It's only Norway which can produce garbage like this. The only good thing about it was that Petronella Barker was in it. She is really beautiful.

A must to miss (1 out of 10)

Interesting

I thought this movie was interesting. It's a play adopted to the screen. You wont find action written all over it. It's a silent beautiful movie, well shot and directed. Petronella Barker is as always a sight for sore eyes, maybe the most beautiful actress in Norway. I would recommend it for someone who are looking for a silent moment, and who are looking for something that makes them think. But if you are looking for action, look the other way...

Classic

This movie is a classic. The brilliant underplay of Bjørn Sundquist, the incredible sensuality of Petronella Barker - in her best role to date - and the most incredible interior architect of all times found in Nils Ole Oftebro. This is a movie completely underrated here at IMDb and that really is a shame.

Thranes Method deals with themes like withdrawal, loneliness, extreme boredom (here related to work), lack of ability to make even the smallest decisions, sensuality and jazz. Everything is done in a most intriguing and humorous way. A classic!

The movie is built upon a collection of short stories written by the author Øystein Lønn. I would also recommend reading Thranes Method by Øystein Lønn.
