It's an awkward age
dbdumonteil9 July 2016
Boileau-Narcejac's novel,at a time when teachers are assaulted by their students (and their parents) ,is more relevant than ever;written in the seventies, the masters of suspense produced an interesting thriller about the transition from adolescence to adulthood .

That was the first time the novel had been transferred to the screen ;recently a "remake" was released ,called "Comme Un Homme" (?) starring Charles Berling and son.Fans of Boileau-Narcejac will be wise to pass the 2012 movie up,if only out of respect for them.

Julien and Hervé are at odds with their maths teacher,a woman whose lack of experience makes her job hard to do,facing defiant students. She has them expelled from school and they decide to kidnap her and to hold her prisoner in a shed in the woods during three days ;but she's a diabetic and needs insulin;besides, one of the teenagers has an accident and his pal is finally on his own ;to reveal more would be a spoiler, but the suspense is sustained through the whole movie .

A faithful adaptation of Boileau-Narcejac's book, this MTV work is to be recommended .
