Touching Comedy!

Nowheresville is one of those rare romantic comedies that treats the characters as if they are fully dimensional, intelligent adults. This is a very funny movie filled with characters you actually care about, who suffer the consequences of their actions and change and grow. The no name cast is excellent from top to bottom and the soundtrack is great - Poi Dog Poindering, The Blue Nile, The Grateful Dead. This movie was a treat to watch. A rare surprise!

Good try, but didn't make it

There are some good lines and some good scenes, but overall the movie the script is mediocre and the movie doesn't hold interest. The direction tends toward overacting and kind of a flat hysteria. Like a Hal Hartley movie without the depth.

Character Actor Tour de Force

Nowheresville is a charming romantic comedy that harkens back to the days when Hollywood knew how to make movies with real heart. It features exceptionally fine performances and direction, but especially noteworthy are the smaller roles. Although his appearance is brief, Bruce Gatenby, appearing as the Shoe Store Manager, steals the show with his finely nuanced performance as the harried purveyor of women's footwear. Reminiscent of the young Jimmy Stewart or Macdonald Carey, I'm sure we'll be seeing much more of Gatenby in the future in starring, rather than supporting, roles.

Funny, Sexy, & Thought Provoking!

I loved 'Nowheresville'! It is a very well written script brought to life with superb acting. I was impressed with the humorous treatment of being lost in your twenties, and relieved that the movie avoided sappy cliches. Nowheresville is smart, laugh out loud funny, and as an extra added bonus, ethnically diverse. This is a great film!
