Amazingly Surrealistic Movie
prawintulsi3 January 2009
This is amazingly a surrealistic movie. A very bold experimentation of that time. It depicts the 'entry of new culture and advancement to a society and it's impact on it' through a symbolic character called 'Nandini' who comes into the downtrodden village of 'Vandicholai'.

Nandini's husband Sembattai is a local vendor for the village, who helps them meet their daily needs... cereals to lingerie.

Many symbolically expressed characters and sequences are present in the movie. Musical score was one of the important strength of the film. Detailed study of this can be read in http://pinkurippukal.blogspot.com/2007/09/blog-post_28.html

A Film That Stormed The Hearts By Screen Play and Music
murali_mully5 January 2003
This film is among the few that will go beyond ages and stand forever. The Direction, Music ( Maestro Ilayaraja ) and actor Siva Kumar have made this film more that an entertainment.Yes see this film and relive the 1970's life in a typical Indian Village. I stop here because you will continue after me on seeing this film.
