CRAZY

I picked up a free screener of "The Interview" off of one of the tables at the Slamdance party back in 2001. I had no idea what I was gonna see. I have like 10 films that I'd gotten copies of in Park City, and this one stood out the most. It starts out with the weirdest and longest title sequence I've ever seen, and the film is 8 minutes long in total. It's all these schizo looking paintings and hand drawn titles. The little boy in the movie is cute, and it makes the end of the story creepier. It's hard to say that there's even a story to begin with. It's almost like a big sick joke, but it's scary. I thought it was just insane trash when I first saw it, but it made me want to seek out the director. Since then I saw his other film, "The Tunnel", and now I know he's nuts. "The Interview" is the craziest no-budget things I've ever seen. I think it should be retitled America's Craziest Home Video. Insane 8/10.

Paintings...guys in masks...blood...eerie music...the only thing missing is any sembalence of a plot, oh hell even a hint of a story line would have been appreciated. But don't let a small thing like that keep you from enjoying this romp through Ramzi's subconcious.
