We return with the latest edition of the Indie Spotlight, highlighting recent independent horror news sent our way. Today’s feature includes release details for A Resurrection, the first teaser trailer for Ten, a review of Smiley, and much more:
First Teaser Trailer for Ten: “Ten is a collectivist, post-exploitation psychological thriller devised as a possible explanation for the events of the 1972 Spektor Island Massacre. On a cold December afternoon, ten women arrive at a mansion on Spektor Island, famed for years of reported hauntings and strange activities. Will they live through the night?
The all-female cast film is a response to exploitation, slasher, and thriller films, with particular focus on the kind of storytelling prominent in b-movies and genre films from the 1950s to the 1980s. It explores the meaning and fluidity of identity and takes a number of surprising turns, paying homage to filmmakers and producers such as Alfred Hitchcock,...

"The Nightmare Box is an experimental movie blending horror and psychological drama," shares director Jon Keeyes. Jon Keeyes Director Jon Keeyes (American Nightmare, Fall Down Dead) who has shown a clear understanding of what makes a horror film scary and suspenseful will be taking over directing duties for the web series "Throwing Stones". I liked the idea behind the first season of Throwing Stones and thought it featured a dynamic young cast, but I will be honest, I thought it missed the mark in terms of crafting terror and unease. So that's why I am excited to see Keeyes taking over as he has the know how to take what was missing from season 1 and improve upon that. I think Keeyes has the potential to be the next Wes Craven (Scream) if he can score that breakout hit as he has such a command on what makes a scary film scary. Hopefully, he can bring those skill sets to Throwing Stones and show the world what...

All you fans of the Saturday Schoolers at Blair High will be tickled to death to know the popular web series Throwing Stones has not only announced that Season 2 has been greenlighted, but they've nabbed veteran director Jon Keeyes to head the project.
And as if the news couldn't get any better, producers have claimed that the new season of Throwing Stones will transition from the psychological thriller style you’re used to into a no-holds barred slasher mode. As if Saturday detention wasn't crappy enough already. Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy never had it this bad.

Having already done the festival rounds and picked up several awards along the way, action/horror mash-up Bonnie and Clyde vs. Dracula is ready hit screens big and small. If I'd only read the film description, I'm not sure how interested I'd be, but this preview roped me right in. Writer/Director Timothy Friend (Cadaverella) throws us back to the 1930s, where the infamous duo get themselves mixed up with a force even worse than the police. After a bank robbery goes bad, Bonnie (Tiffany Shepis, Tromeo and Juliet, The Violent Kind) and Clyde (Trent Haaga, Suburban Nightmare, Gimme Skelter) seek refuge at the home of Dr. Loveless (Allen Lowman, Ride with the Devil), but something strange and unexpected lurks in the basement. Here's the kickass trailer:
The only thing missing is Olyphantypants.
Bonnie and Clyde vs Dracula also stars T Max Graham (Eraserhead, Ride with the Devil), theater actress,...

Jon Keeyes is the director behind the horror movie American Nightmare starring two legendary horror divas, Debbie Rochon and Brinke Stevens. With American Nightmare, Jon Keeyes created a low budget indie slasher that was accessible and commercial, yet a bit edgy and different. It featured Debbie Rochon in the leading role as a psychopathic killer who stalks a group of friends one Halloween night bringing their worst fears to life. American Nightmare proved that Rochon just isn't another pretty face, but a force to be reckoned with. She turned in a performance that was loud and in your face, but also subtle and naunced. No easy combination to pull off! There has been talks swirling in the air of a sequel and a possible tenth anniversary edition, but untill that day comes, we will have to wait in anticpation of Keeyes latest film, The Gathering, which is getting under way.
