An incredible "freshman" film. High expectations for this director

I loved the simple plot and easily related-to characters. Splendid performances from the entire cast. Something for everyone in this film. Very Kevin Smith meets John Hughes feel. I give it an eight (8). While certain parts of the film were dark and sometimes hard to see, it didn't subtract from the overall story.
