Although the lack of a large budget is sometimes painfully obvious the writing and satirical comedy shines through. The action scenes may seem 'try hard' at times. This it seems, was the writer's purpose, to make the action sequences unbelievably 'cheesy' to add to the satire of the series. The lead actor is capable and manages the demanding role well, his dramatic and comedic acting abilities are extremely good for a person of his age. The supporting cast includes newcomers to the industry and long time professionals. All of whom help to make the show a more complete and well rounded comedy. Considering the limited budget they were on, the show came across as a very professional series. The show was quite successful and got the green light to do another series. New Zealand comedy is becoming less and less frequent and I believe this particular series is a valuable asset to New Zealand television. Overall the show pulls of the satire and action genres very well, and deserves a watch from all ages.
