a moving film

I saw this movie when it was released at the International Film Festival in Hawaii. The story is about children who experienced the Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake which occurred in 1995. I remember it being equal to "The Grave of the Fireflies" in the way it stirred my emotions. I was surprised when "The Grave of the Fireflies" showed more commercial success, in being released on DVD in America, than this movie. The Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake was an extremely tragic event in Japan. I thought that this movie captured the emotions of those caught in the tragedy very well. Especially from the point of view it was from, from the eyes of the children. I do not want to spoil anything for those who have not yet seen this movie, so I won't go any further into detail. I know this movie might be hard to find, but please take the time. You might enjoy it.

A very sad story when Japan had a 6.9 magnitude earthquake not long after I was born

Warning: Spoilers
I was honestly looking to see if I could find this anime in English sub which unfortunately didn't have that version. this made so disappointed because I was dying to figure out what the characters were saying to one another since I'm unfortunately not Japanese fluent. Anyways I looked at the whole anime movie and yes I really did shed a few tears.

It's awful to see the kids going through loss at such young ages like I felt deeply sorry for Kazu when his father died from the rubble and losing his childhood friend whom he has a crush on (can't remember her name unfortunately). Fortunately for Tsuyoshi and Jun, the brothers were incredibly lucky to have each other alive likewise with their parents.

The graduation was the hardest scene I ever experienced in this anime because Tsuyoshi, Kazu and the rest of the survivors graduated from primary school and dedicated the friends they lost in the earthquake. Fair play to Kazu for speaking up as he had it a lot rough as well as the rest of them. I mean gosh to think it's 25 years that time happened and the 2011 earthquake happened 8 years ago. Yup Japan had it absolutely rough but it's still a wonderful country that I always wish to visit regardless!

Yeah if you had luck finding the sub version, I wish I was you lol but if not, watch it anyway cause you do feel a good emotions going through you in this anime!!!
