That was great!
I have been gaming since around 1977. The funniest thing about this movie is not only identifying with the characters, but being able to identify people I have gamed with that are that character.

One of the best lines, and there are many good ones, is "You could make 8th level tonight…" Somebody spent good time putting this short together. This has a real documentary feel to it. The addition of background music, titles, etc… adds to the feel of making this a very believable documentary.

The credits at the end of short are very well done. There is a 3D characteristic to the credits that make them fun to watch.

"Fear of Girls" is to gaming what "Office Space" is to the working person.

Rather funny parody of gamers.

This short film is simply a parody of the RPG (Role Playing Game)-community. Being a former gamer myself, at first I got mildly annoyed with the exaggerated and stereotype picture of gamers. After a few minutes I started to see traces of myself and my former gamer-friends in the characters - the way we used be be able to get carried away when we found our RPG-characters surrounded by Kobolds... and also started to see the fun. If you are a former gamer and have the opportunity to watch the film - do it! It is rather funny... especially since it gives one an idea why one never where that popular at school ("Oh, that is how the girls looked upon is!") :-)

Dark, sinister, heartwarming.

"Fear of Girls" is a touching and whimsical short comedy shot in style of a documentary about two socially inept grown men. Doug and Raymond are unwilling to leave the magical world of LARP (Live-Action-Role-Playing) through which they used to escape the torment of adolescence.

The two full-time gamers are scorned by women and alienated by other Role-Playing enthusiasts (a.k.a. children). The contrast of their peculiar behavior and isolation is displayed through the equally weird behavior of "Doug-Doug"'s hyper-Christian family who believe he is going to hell. Surrounded by empty soda bottles and medieval paraphenalia, sexual tension froths between the men, afraid to question the "platonic" nature of their relationship.

This is a hilarious and uplifting short about friendship and loyalty, epitomizes awkwardness and the quixotic misadventures of two men isolated from reality. I sincerely hope this film receives the credit it deserves.

Memories of the Past

What makes this film so entertaining is the authenticity. Anyone who has played RPG's can see bits and pieces of themselves or friends in Doug and Raymond. We have all gamed with people just like that in the past.

If you are like me, you probably have a story. That one time you went to an open invitation on the board at the hobby shop or gamed with a friend of a friend, and there was that guy there so over the top, it creeped you out. Hey, my buddy had someone show up to a gaming invite at McD's wearing a chain-mail shirt.

I watched Episode 1 and 2 and like them both for different reasons. I see from the message boards that some people are offended, but if you can't laugh at yourself....
