Coincidence and prophecy
Tweekums1 August 2018
After Beka takes a 'wrong turn' in slipstream Andromeda emerges in a system housing a Commonwealth prison; almost immediately afterwards they receive a request for help quelling a riot. That is soon done but three prisoners manage to escape. Two are swiftly caught but the third proves more elusive... there is something odd about her; she appears on none of the prison's records despite clearly being there; it is suggested that she might be a rebel mole. Beka and Rhade follow her into a hidden area where they find old pictographs which, when translated, tell of a prophecy linking the woman, a man known as 'the conduit' and a device that the planet's administrator, Patrius, described as its power source. It is protected by a security system that even he can't crack.

This was an enjoyable episode; it may rely on coincidence but that is flagged throughout and fits in with the prophecy. There are some nice twists as the story unfolds although I'm sure most viewers will guess many of them before the reveal. There is plenty of solid action and guest star Laura Mennell does a fine job as the mystery prisoner who is later identified as Siara. Sebastian Spence is suitably ambiguous as Patrius. The regular cast are on good form and there is some character development for Dylan, who we learn has visited the planet before. Overall a pretty good episode.
