When Ben Cartwright decided that Jamie would have to be going to school of
course he'd be mixing with all kinds of other kids not quite as well off as the
Cartwrights. One such is Lisa Gerritsen whose father Jack Cassidy runs a
horse racing racket with a pair of horses.

Only Gerritsen and her mother Diane Baker are real tired of Cassidy who lives life as a conman. This is his latest scheme to fleece the marks and they want him to settle down.
Gerritsen's scenes with Dan Blocker have some real poignancy. And Jack Cassidy who later in his career played some elegant villains does well in a part where he has to decide do I really have a spark of decency left.
Good guest star performances and Dan Blocker and Mitch Vogel are outstanding as well.
