Bobby And Greg Make A Bet
Jimmy_the_Gent42 August 2020
Bobby bets Greg that he can't do twice as many chin ups that he can.

A funny Greg/Bobby episode, one of the best of Season 3. It begins with Bobby bragging about how many chin ups he can do, which leads to the bet with Greg. The loser has to do everything the winner asks him for a week. Bobby goes through some rigorous training but Greg doesn't bother. The chin up scene has Bobby doing 11, but Greg cannot do 22, so Bobby is the winner. There is a sub plot of Mike and Carol going to Mike's high school reunion, they make the same bet as the boys that Carol cannot figure out who Mike's old girl friend was at the reunion. The funniest scene is when Greg is forced to take Bobby on a date Greg has with a new girl Rachel. There is a hilarious moment at the drive in movie involving a convertible and an umbrella.

WILL THE REAL BOBO PLEASE STAND UP!

I agree with Jimmy as this is probably the BEST episode of season three, at least it's very original and well acted. You can tell everyone is having a blast here.

10 Stars.

It's let's make a BET time. Bobby is bragging all over the place about all the chinups he can do. Enter big brother Greg, with extra muscles, and comes the challenge --and it has to be fair. Accordingly, Bobby has to do eleven chinups and Greg has to do double, 22 chinups. And may the best Brady win. Greg loses big time and has to be Bobby's "slave" for a week!

Can you believe this stuff!

Then there's more! Taking a cue from the kids, Mike and Carol enter in a little contest. Mike is invited to his high school reunion and Carol must guess who Bobo is -- the love of Mike's life back in the day!

Better yet, comes the ending as poor Greg has to drag Bobby with him on a date at a drive-in??? It looks like rain, so Bobby DEMANDS he put the convertible top up. Greg at this stage is soooo humiliated, frustrated, aggrivated he refuses and Bobby opens an umbrella. Watch what happens.

Good support from producer Sherwood Schwartz's daughter, Hope, as Greg's totally confused date.

For all us Brady fans, not to forget Greg's next date with Hope (Season 4) when one of Bobby's frogs jumps on her head and then on their pizza!

Well directed by Earl Bellamy, who handled many episodes for MY THREE SONS. According to notes, Bellamy directed a record 1600 tv episodes. Super trivia question.

SEASON 3 EPISODE 18 remastered color Paramount/ABC dvd box set.
