As a child one of the most distressing things was visiting my Dentist. My parents would pay this guy to hurt me. Go figure. Anyway, I also work in the Jewelry industry as our story is based on Diamonds and engagement rings. Because of this,particular episode of Coach, it totally embraced my interest. Coach takes place at a University in Minnesota when our center of strength, the macho, manly Hayden Fox (Craig T. Nelson) Coaches the Screamin Eagles. Along with his dim-witted assistant Luther Van Dam (Jerry Van Dyke) who is an animal lover, eats junk food, looks for cheap deals and reacts before thinking about the consequences. Hayden wants to buy an engagement ring for his Girlfriend Christine Armstrong (Shelley Fabares). It's Hayden's second attempt at Marriage and nothing but the best for his love Christine. Hayden realizes that diamonds are a bit pricey for his budget. Luther interjects and suggest he see's he's personal Dentist Art Hibke (Tom Poston) who doubles as a diamond dealer. Hayden negotiates a deal for the stone, but the problem is the ring size. How to surprise Christine with the engagement ring? Only writer Barry Kemp could provide the solution. A nice cozy comedy with a unique ending.
