Dynasty: The Showdown
RavenGlamDVDCollector18 November 2016
Okay, so we're heading for this big showdown between Denver-Carrington and Colbyco. But who cares? All I have eyes for are the two prettiest starlets of the time, who are, despite this being from a vastly different era, quite streets ahead of any contemporary stars today. Heather Locklear and Catherine Oxenberg. And they have their showdown. Finally. In this episode, the start of it. I knew it was coming, as their characters, Sammy Jo and Amanda, have their sights set on the same guy. I have no idea what's going to happen in the season finale next week, but one thing I do know: It's their final round together, as Catherine demanded a pay increase (well, I think she's worth it) but didn't get it, and instead got fired.

So whatever happens, it will have to happen in the next episode. It's years later, I watch on DVD, I could sneak a peek, but I'm not even gonna Google the episode name.

Week by week, I've been comparing these two. The further we continue, Catherine's often petulant heiress Amanda loses appeal. Sammy Jo might be the true bad girl of the series, but she remains a dream girl whatever her mood. So it's not really for me about a comparison between Heather and Catherine, for the script has a considerable influence. But when it comes to Sammy Jo and Amanda, Sammy Jo is leading in the glam stakes. She is unbelievably beautiful. Sometimes the sheer European elegance of Amanda is hard to beat, but overall, it's Sammy Jo...

But they're both astonishing. The show is kinda old-fashioned, but when it came to casting choices for those two characters, the two very best choices were made. DYNASTY might be remembered by others for it's $$$ bling, but for me, it's Heather and Catherine.
