Tina Andrews as JJ's girl Henrietta
kevinolzak7 January 2017
"My Girl Henrietta" featured the one-time-only appearance of JJ's much mentioned girlfriend Henrietta, played by Tina Andrews. Florida expects Henrietta to surprise JJ as their special guest for dinner, but her very pregnant appearance is a surprise for everyone. This explains why JJ has been making noises about getting a full time job with thoughts of marriage. James again proves himself a male chauvinist by blaming the girl for her predicament - Florida: "there are a whole lot of things that a girl can do by herself, but getting pregnant ain't one of 'em!" Henrietta tells Thelma how great JJ has been throughout, while her parents haven't felt anything but hangovers for years. As much as she likes JJ she simply doesn't want to get married, keeping the baby because her folks never gave her the love she deserved. JJ is happy they can still see each other: "we can go out and have two Big Macs and one little Mac!"

From the Brady Bunch to Good Times

Warning: Spoilers
Tina Andrews appeared on the Brady Bunch as one of Marcia's friends. On Good Times, she was JJ's pregnant girlfriend, Henrietta. Amazing, what the range of a good actress can be! In all seriousness, Tina got me emotional here. JJ is not the father, and Henrietta doesn't try to trap him into anything. She wants to keep her baby, because she "has nothing else." What a sad state of affairs. Henrietta's situation is all too common in real life, whether in 1975, or any time up to the present. A well done and important episode. Also, an early example of JJ proving that he's really a nice guy.
