It is pretty good BUT it has an enormous plot hole!

"A Stranger in His Grave" is a good episode of "Hawaii Five-O"--no doubt about it. However, to be honest, it has an enormous plot hole--around which the entire episode hinges. And if you think about it, it does cheapen the overall quality of this show.

The show begins with a body being discovered in a cane field. It's been there a few months and the autopsy is VERY surprising. First, the body appears to have been dropped from an airplane (ewwwww!). Second, the dead guy is identified as a guy who has already been declared dead and is buried!! Who is the guy in the grave? Why was the body dumped? And, what is going on here with the widow who identified the corpse?

This is a nice whodunnit. There are a lot of nice twists and the show worked very well but for the plot hole. The hole is this--the grand conspiracy depends on the body of the dead man NOT being discovered. Don't you think there would have been a better way to dispose of a body OTHER than tossing it out of a plane in a field?! Why not drop the corpse in the ocean?! After all, Hawaii is surrounded by it! And, if the body had just been disposed of well, the crime never would have been discovered! So, a brilliant plan undone by a moment of inexplicable stupidity! If they'd just planned this part of the episode better, it would have earned an 8.
