A horrible start for season 11.

I have always loved "Hawaii Five-O" and own all 12 seasons on DVD. However, despite my love for the show, I'll be one of the first to admit that in the last couple seasons, the show took a nosedive in quality. The first few shows of season 11 are particularly bad--with very, very poorly written and silly plots. "Deadly Courier" is the third show of the disastrous 11th season and the third show in the row that is simply shabby and probably not worth your time unless you are a nut, like me, who wants to see them all--the good and the bad.

This show begins with a courier bringing a briefcase to his government contact. The courier excuses himself from the room and soon the briefcase he left explodes. However, the courier and his boss insist that he did NOT do anything wrong. But HOW did the briefcase get booby trapped? McGarrett and the gang investigate and the trail soon leads Danny to a cache of evil spies that use mind control to make him into their pawn. Surprisingly, Wo Fat is NOT behind all this!! The plot to "Deadly Courier" is just ludicrous. Using a combination of drugs, behavioral conditioning and hypnosis, the evil doers manage to brainwash the courier and Danny in only a few hours!! I have had significant training in hypnosis as well as some in behavioral conditioning with animals. Had I been able to do anything like the folks in the show were able to do, I sure as heck would have used these magical powers for evil (or at least to get free pizza)! To top of the absurdity of the plot, the ending is amazingly dumb. Think about it--these people are highly skilled and very well financed spies--yet their plan with the second courier is to just grab the bag and run out of the airport!! An airport which is heavily guarded by police, by the way! Sloppily written and stupid--it's like the writers were just phoning in the episodes at this point in a once-great series.
