Pretty good.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode of "Hawaii Five-O" is a nice break from the usual Anglo-Asian guests on the show. Here we have a black villain--a real rarity on the show. The one time I can remember previous black bad guys, they were all pimps! Here, Ossie Davis plays a smart, well-educated criminal.

The show begins with what appears to be a case of seppuku--Japanese ritual suicide (hence the title). However, this isn't a typical way of killing yourself in Hawaii AND the dead man is an important man in international banking. So, Five-O investigates--to see if this really was a suicide and what the motives might have been either way. Eventually, the learn that the death coincided with some fake money transfers--could the two be related and are the criminals waiting to strike again?

While nothing super-exciting happens in this episode, there are also no obvious mistakes or plot holes. It's a solid and interesting idea--and one that is quite unusual. Well worth seeing.

Fifth time's a charm?
VetteRanger8 April 2023
When a bank president commits suicide, people worry something is wrong at his bank. And his close friend is called in to provide insight. It's the fifth time a supposed expert has been called in to consult on his own crime. I had to subtract stars for that ... just had to.

Five-0 pursues the crime in a very pedestrian way, and the executive's successor can't help since his wife is being held hostage against his cooperation!

In this very odd episode, except for one visit to the bank, McGarrett sits in his office and answers phone calls the entire time, not even participating in the final capture. This is not how they normally scripted the series. LOL.
