Your crazy you don't know what your talking about!

****SPOILERS**** This turned out to be a real tough case to solve, or hard nut to crack, by special police consultant Robert T. Ironside, Raymond Burr, it all has to do with the attempts on the life of popular San Francisco advice columnist Francesca, or Fran to her friends, Kirby played by the just back to work, after being blacklisted for her so-called anti-government activities, Lee Grant. Someone's out to get Fran and it's not for the advice that she's giving in her columns but for something very personal. Or at least that's what Ironside thinks.

First an attempted kidnapping then someone slipping poison into her martini then an assassination attempt, with a sniper rifle, on the San Francisco docks. It's now become evident that there's someone in the City by the Bay doesn't quite like Fran and who just who that person is it's up to Ironside to find out. Checking out everyone who has it in for Farn, that numbers in the tens of thousands, Ironside comes up with her drunk of a husband Mitch, Farley Granger, who claims that he hasn't had a drop of booze to drink since he was dried out at a local alcohol rehabilitation center in the city about two years ago. Ironside later drops Mitch as a suspect in that he's still too drunk, from his previous life of non stop boozing, to have been able to carry out such a number of complicated attempts on his wife's life without getting himself caught.

****SPOILERS**** Even though the person who was trying to knock off Fran was right in front of him Ironside was totally blind, in how obvious and in his face that person was, to see it. It's later when Ironside checks back in Frans life before she became famous in the world on newspaper columnists that the truth in who's trying to ice Fran hits him right between the eyes. That was just before Ironside himself as well as Fran's trying to stay sober husband Mitch was going to get blown to bits in what was to be the last attempt on Fran's life that Ironside prevented.
