Well-acted as always by Loretta, but a very brooding, depressing episode regarding a woman returning home from her husband's funeral.
Unconsolable, she imagines that 2 statues come to life and represent the children she never had with her now dead husband. I don't know how the nurse who took care of her husband during his illness and has agreed to stay on for a few more days can handle all this. Throughout the episode, she keeps saying to hold on dear as the doctor is coming. Believe me, the doctor wasn't hurrying into such a depression situation.
What were the writers thinking? Did they want Loretta to do a "Mourning Becomes Electra" like episode to recapture the moment when in 1947, Loretta's "The Farmer's Daughter," beat our the heavily favored Roz Russell for 'Electra'?
