Well written and thought-provoking

This episode didn't quite deliver all the way, but it was certainly well written and thought-provoking, as most episodes of Lou Grant usually are. What I liked was how the story illuminated the conflicts that exist between the media and big business, with neither side really able to trust each other. That still occurs today. I thought Nancy Marchand did a great job, and I always like it when the stories focus on the ownership of the paper and how biased or objective the paper's coverage truly is. It gives us something to ponder. This episode could easily be rewritten about the relationship between the media and government.
