Another fix up for Mary. Lou Grant has a friend named Cooper (Michael Constantine) with whom he plays poker. He is a successful attorney and he is very nice. Lou becomes convinced that the two of them are made for each other, and he becomes utterly invasive as they try to figure things out. It's hard to know if there is attraction because Lou won't let up. As luck would have it, the two of them realize they just aren't compatible, but Lou has almost devoted his existence to their budding relationship. This is a modest effort at best. As I'm going through these episodes, I'm realizing how many different men go through Mary's life. She also has a lot of clothes.

Another set-up

Mary has Lou introduce her to his poker buddy Cooper (Michael Constantine). Lou is initially reluctant, but is soon eagerly pushing them together despite their lack of chemistry.
I don't love the 'dating' episodes as a rule but this isn't too bad as it doesn't get overly sentimental. Constantine manages to get a few laughs and his scenes are well played.
Most of the comedy comes from Lou, who is really funny here.
