Maude gives the eulogy at Irene's funeral and thinks about running for her seat in Congress.
A very good penultimate episode. We meet Irene's Chief Of Staff Sam Dickey (Dennis Burkely, he appeared before but in a different role) a Southern good ol boy who loves wheelin' and dealin'. The eulogy scene is very funny as Maude turns it into a political speech. Then we see Arthur and Vivian for the last time. Walter and Arthur laugh and joke with each other but Maude and Vivian have a tearful goodbye. Then Sam shows up and tells Maude she has been appointed to Irene's Congress seat, setting the next and final episode.
