Max and Norman Bonding Time
shelbythuylinh3 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
As Max is on vacation with his mother and how his mother and Virgil are talking while Max in trying to get his cap back. Is arrested with Norman for stealing there.

But Norman gets cranky without his sword but will do anything and everything to protect Max no matter what costs there.

It is not an ordinary Turkish prison. It is very threatening and that Skullmaster sends in his goons to try to get the cap. Proven prison is not immune from Skullmaster.

It is up to his mom and Virgil to save them from prison there. Wished there were more Norman and Max episodes.

A burning case of pink eye.

A Turkish prison haunted by an ancient feral beast that feeds prisoners to the tentacled living eyeball of the long dead cyclops that once dwelled in the caves below... Man, this show could be so awesome! Although this episode is absolutely inspired by the torture-themed Doom Zone "Mighty Max Outwits Cyclops", the monstrous skull of the cyclops looks very similar to another one, "Mighty Max Escapes From Skull Dungeon", which was one of my favourites when I was little because it was the first I ever got. There's something in the tone of this episode that feels a little extra grim and gritty. The hulking ogre-like Torlak the Torturer is a very threatening and guttural foe, and the sheer amount of punishment he's able to take without dying is just brutal! He survives being stuffed into an iron maiden and thrown into a pit of spikes! Norman's extra kick-ass in this episode, he just lives to fight, and I love the super-strong human tossing!! Norman's a big fan favourite of this show, but personally I don't really have just one - all the main characters together are my favourites, including Skullmaster. This episode's got some of the best visuals seen yet on the show, like the unforgettable gigantic skeleton of the cyclops, and the bizarrely still living predatory eye of the beast that chases our heroes like some kind of freakish octopus - it really is gross! There was an episode of Reboot called "Wizards, Warriors and a Word From our Sponsor" where a similar creature popped up for a second. I like the impressive foreground effect used when Max and Norman enter the cyclops' lair and the creature's tentacles slither away and you don't notice them at first. I'm probably reading a bit too much into it, but I'm not sure how an eye could have eaten them. I think it may have been planning on gooing them to death, or maybe, you know how when you get something small stuck in your eye, if you leave it alone long enough it'll go to the side and disappear..yeah, I think it was planning on doing that! I just mainly love this one because it's such an interesting twist on the cyclops myth, and it doesn't give you the kind of creature you may be expecting. See ya! 👁
