Showdown at McSorlie's bar
kapelusznik185 June 2017
***SPOILERS*** Tracking the dangerous cop killer trigger happy "Billy the Kid" Schnabbe, William Duell, who gunned down Det. Jacobs,Tom Rosqui, and seriously wounded his partner Det. Johnny Corso,Frank Converse, after they woke him up from a deep sleep-to check if he was alive or not- in his stolen car after knocking off a bank in Newark of $26,000.00. The crazed gunman ends up at McSorlie's bar having a few drinks-on the house of course-and talking about his exploits in the world of crime to anyone who would bother listening.

It didn't take long for the N.Y.P.D to get a line on Scnabbe in that his big mouth and not bothering to leave the place lead them right to him. It's now up to Let.Mike Hines, Jack Warden, to apprehend Schnabbe without any farther bloodshed with the bar full of costumers getting juiced after a long days work at the East River docks. It's then that Johnny Corso's original partner, who was on vacation when he was shot, Det. Jeff Ward,Robert Hooks, decided to take out Scnabbe on his own without as much as firing a shot.

***SPOILERS*** With nerves of steel and brass balls to match Det. Jeff Ward calmly walks into the all white bar, and in him being the only black there, and orders a drink only to have a suspicious Scnabbe pull his gun on him. But not fast enough to beat Det. Ward to the punch who pulled his gun on Scnabbe first! In what at first looked like to be a wild shootout in a crowded bar with as much as a dozen people getting shot or killed turned out, thanks to Det. Ward coolness, to be nothing more then a simple arrest with some 30 policemen out on the street ready to storm the joint who ended up not at all needed to shoot it out and arrest the cop killer. Who despite all his tough talk & bravado meekly surrendered to Det. Ward without a shot being fired. As well as not having themselves shot in the crossfire.
