In an episode that is sure to make even grown men shudder and almost involuntarily reach down south to ensure that everything is in order, Sipowicz and Clark attend the aftermath of a shooting, where the victim has - yep, you guessed it - been shot through the crotch. Right in the old Crown Jewels. Not a good way to go.
McDowell's sister pops up out of nowhere. She is pregnant and appears to have taken a beating at the hands of her husband, Frank, who is hauled into the precinct to have a word with Medavoy and Jones. (But not enough of one for Connie's liking, and she tells the detectives so - jeepers, talk about biting the hand that feeds!)
The episode ends with Connie's sister going back to her abusive husband. I have a bad feeling where this one is going...
Also, can I just say that NYPD Blue offers up the best and quirkiest witnesses possibly in the history of TV. Doesn't matter the crime or where it was perpetrated, there's going to be some weird/crazy/spaced-out witness to said crime whose musings will inevitably upset Sipowicz. Such a well written show!
