My review of this series was not especially flattering, not the fault of the producers, but the Superman character is so rigid in the way he is written that, to create dramatic conflict, some very un-natural plot arcs are utilized. But this episode is worth wading through the whole series for! In an alternate dimension (which seems to be a speciality of DC, see FLASHPOINT PARADOX) the real Lois meets an alternate Superman who lost his way because he was a split second late in saving (alternate) Lois, and (alternate) Lois had died. So Supe lost it and formed an alliance with Lex to "control" crime. In this series, it was clear from the first episode that the best artwork and voice work (Dana Delaney) went into Lois anyway, so here she gets an entire episode to shine. Best scene is when the (real) Lois twigs to the fact that if (alternate) Superman had feelings for her, then present one must too...? She slaps (alternate) Superman for not telling her and says, with the usual sass, "We could've worked something out." Great episode. It connects in a way the rest of the series does not.
