At a town meting, the mayor announce his pride in cutting down a bunch of trees in a scenic place to sell the lumber. People get angry but the mayor has all the power. But there is an election coming up and it is determined that someone should run against the mayor. Larry is the only once courageous enough to take this on; but when Chester realizes this, he throws his hat into the ring. Dick endorses Chester and the fun begins. Finally, at a candidates' rally, Larry gives the best speech. But can he win? In a much less interesting part of this episode, Michael is dog sitting and the dog is getting more attention than Stephanie. Sparks begin to fly.

The current mayor wants to cut down an area of woods but Larry wants to run against him.
A funny episode with Chester also joining in the race. Dick feels guilty about giving his support to Chester when Larry thought he had his support. The end scene shows one of the Darryls also did not vote for Larry. In a good subplot, Michael gets a cute puppy and Stephanie is jealous of his attention to it.
