This episode begins with Bill bringing home a visitor, Mack Novitz (Victor Garber of ALIAS), a wheeler-dealer Hollywood agent who wants to stay a few days, but must wear down Margaret's resistance first. He succeeds by comparing Margaret to Lauren 'Betty' Bacall, then charms Sophie by calling her 'a klutz,' while Caitlyn succumbs when he provides a sympathetic ear to her marital woes. Jordan and Charlotte cannot resist his endless stories either, which leads a jealous Bill to inquire about him with the Hollywood set. It's Aaron Spelling (playing himself) who returns the call, revealing Mack to be a phony leech named Bernie Fishbaum, who spent three weeks posing as an astronaut in his home, leaving him "with a $900 phone bill and a pregnant housekeeper!" It's Theodore who gets the last word when the imposter is revealed: "Hit the road Mack!" Bill also discusses points with Bradley, such as donating his frequent flier miles to the homeless (Bradley: "good idea sir, it's a nice gesture, and flying them around like that would keep them off the streets!"). He also laments that his heroes, like Charlton Heston, Clint Eastwood, and John 'Duke' Wayne, were not liberal Democrats that could work with him, admitting that Dustin Hoffman "looks downright goofy on a horse!" Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Pierce yet again is absent from this episode.
