Fun and a Time Capsule of Agoura RenFaire
oscar-3528 June 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I thoroughly enjoyed this Renaissance Faire themed episode for many reasons. Mr. Burton's TV show is entertaining and informative. It is happily educational in its stated reason to get kid's to read more books. In that he has been very publicly acclaimed and successful. This specific episode you see a very good time capsule of the Agoura Renfaire in the mid 1980s. This Renfaire is the granddaddy of ALL other Renfaires across the USA. Phyliss Patterson's history of the Renaissance Pleasure Faire; Agoura, Calif. http://www.geocities.com/agenovese1/Renfaire4.html It is still going on in Southern California during the springtime. This show features some of the best Renfaire attractions and performers of the day. From the peasant street performers like the 'Rock Merchant', the peasant lunch meal performers, Sam & Dave jugglers and the Queen's Progress parade with Luissa Puig as Queen Elizabeth. You might ask how I know about these facts and times. I started performing at this faire in 1978 and I was there during the filming of this show. I was involved with the Queen's Progress parade as a member of St George's Lords & ladies royal court acting guild. My RenFaire Resume http://www.geocities.com/agenovese1/Renfaire1.html This specific show brings back many wonderful memories to me and it brings back many smiles to my face when I watch. I often used this show to illustrate what was best and fun about my acting days at the Agoura Renaissance Faire all those days ago. Enjoy!
