There are a fair share of 'Tiny Toon Adventures' episodes that centre around an individual story, and there are great examples such as "A Looney Beginning" and "Her Wacky Highness". There are just as many, and perhaps even more, episodes that are made up of two or more segments (mostly three), again some great examples and many come off entertainingly but the quality is not as consistent with not every segment being completely successful.
Both parts of "You Asked For It" are triple bill episodes. Both parts are well worth watching and definitely recommended (don't really consider any of the show's episodes less than watchable), but neither are classics or see 'Tiny Toon Adventures' at its best. "You Asked For It: Part 1" is very entertaining, but it is one of those where the quality is not consistent all the way through, a danger fallen into frequently with segment-structured episodes.
For me, the weakest segment of "You Asked For It: Part 1" is "Debutante Devil". Not at all a bad segment, it amuses and charms. Just found the other two funnier, wackier and more imaginative and the characters more compelling, Babs' role is great as usual but Taz is a bit bland.
Didn't find the story linking the segments the most inspired or most interesting of the show. Again not bad with the characters on great form and it amuses, it's just been done better.
"You Asked For It: Part 1's" other segments are more successful. My favourite being "Sleight of Hare". Full of razor sharp wit and wackiness and it is particularly memorable for Presto who looks and sounds eerily similar to Hans Conreid (best known probably to youngsters as the original voice of Disney's Captain Hook, that was my first exposure to him).
In all three segments, the animation is bright, lively and colourful and the expressions and reactions continue to delight. There is nothing questionable about the music placement or type and the theme song is still infectious. Of the characters, only Taz of the most focused upon characters didn't quite work. Babs and Buster do not disappoint, likewise with Plucky, and Presto steals the show. Joe Alaskey gets the voice acting honours.
Concluding, very entertaining even if it didn't blow me away. 8/10
