This was a quite underrated episode, in my opinion.
While it is true that this is not in the same league than some of the most memorable classic chapters (Such as "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire") it was very funny to watch from beginning to end, and it was certainly much better than the recent episode (Like the one about Lady Gaga, which was awful)
I liked the part with the old, low-budget film called "The Christmas That Almost Wasn't, But Then Was", an hilarious parody of cheesy and poorly made holiday-themed movies that contain absurd plot that doesn't have actually anything to do with Christmas.
The only thing that I didn't like was the Deux Ex Machina resolution, which was totally unconvincing (I mean, the reaction from Superintendent Chalmers was completely out of character, despite the fact that he says his usual carfare's) But despite that, this was a funny and enjoyable episode, more than appropriate for Christmas.
