Rhoda becomes annoyed at Mary when Rhoda comes to the station, and in a teasing way, she betrays that Mary never graduated from college. The hard thing is that Mary had put college graduate on her application. Rhoda doesn't think it's a big deal, but Mary is really put out. They argue and are now at odds. Of course, the issue is who is going to blink first. Of course, Rhoda was wrong in betraying her friend (if Mary had worked at some businesses, that would have been her last day), but Mary was wrong to have lied. It gets funnier when Georgette and Ted get into the act. Georgette's sincerity is really funny. She is so dense but so endearing.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode reminds me what a great actress Valerie Harper is. I find her character
Rhoda to be an exceedingly annoying and a thoughtless, selfish person. She really nails the role of Rhoda. As annoying as I find Rhoda,I have to admit that most of the time it is more a matter of her selfish personal style than anything she actually does,in other words she is usually more annoying than harmful. In this episode, however,Rhoda crosses the line and tells a secret to everyone that Mary asked her not to tell, which causes embarrassment and headaches for Mary.
I was a little disgusted with Rhoda for this. All in all a good strong episode.
Insensitive Rhoda

Well-written and well-acted episode.
Rhoda betrays a secret of Mary's at work - Mary lied on her original job application. Rhoda refuses to take it seriously when Mary says it is a problem for her. (In many workplaces it would be a problem for the employer too.) They have a big falling out which is pretty devastating for them, especially Mary.
The situation and reactions are very relatable. There's plenty of effective comedy in there too.
