More prickly topics
Rrrobert6 August 2019
Like the previous episode, also directed by Peter Baldwin, this one explores some prickly topics and office tensions. Sometimes there's more prickle than comedy.

Murray's wife suspects Murray of having an affair - with Mary! Gavin MacLeod does some fantastic acting in his dealings with Mary here. Some of the ideas suggested in these scenes are explored further in later episodes.

Mary is again stuck in the middle trying to smooth things out for everyone. My favourite bit was Rhoda's single scene.

Like a Lamb to Slaughter
Hitchcoc3 February 2017
Murray's work is suffering because he has taken another job. He plans to buy a car for his wife on their tenth wedding anniversary. Of course, poor Mary has to carry this secret around with her. Ted makes a mistake because of Murray's fatigue and Lou chews him out. To make amends, Lou has to say he is sorry and give Ted a raise. Meanwhile, Murray's wife thinks he is having affair with Mary. All kinds of good stuff happens including another revolving door into Lou's office. Lou demands that Murray give up his second job and this throws a bit of a monkey wrench into the works. Ted is gloating, but we all know that Lou is lurking out there.

Warning: Spoilers
Here we have a relatively straightforward, simple episode that is reasonably entertaining and amusing. Character 'Murray Slaughter' (couldn't they think up a better last name? Geez..) has been moonlighting as a cab driver to get his wife a new car for their aniversary. The wife misunderstands Murray's absence and thinks the worse. I liked it.
