This one goes a little overboard. I don't know how much money Michael, but when he takes over Ye Old Apple Days, he takes a rather humble (boring like the residents in the town) little day, and turns it into a tasteless extravaganza. He ends up with a Las Vegas like act that totally turns off the audience. Meanwhile, George, who has a history with this event, goes about doing things like an apple pie eating contest and the traditional bobbing for apples. The trouble is that only Dick and Joanna are there for this. There's a funny scene where Dick eats one mouthful of pie while Joanna is scarfing it down like crazy. Dick is talked into sponsoring Larry, Darryl, and Darryl in a walkathon to save their swamp. He didn't realize they'd cover so many miles. It's a pretty good episode but I had trouble with Michael's extravagant production.

George is looking forward to the annual apple festival but the town wants to discontinue it unless Michael comes up with new ideas.
A very funny episode. George wants to keep the apple festival simple with pie eating contests and apple bobbing. Michael however comes up with a glitzy Vegas style show with showgirls and applesauce wrestling. A great subplot has Larry and the Darryls on a Walk-a-thon to save their swamp. Dick offers to sponsor them with a dollar for each mile. However, they end up walking all the way to Memphis!
