Two Weeks Of Brutal Battle
ccthemovieman-116 August 2009
Well, if you some idea of the struggles that our troops have had fighting in Iraq, I guess you couldn't find a more dramatic example than the intense two-week-long battle at Fallujah in November of 2004. Wow, some of the things in this television program will make you admire the guts of these military guys.

As one Marine said, "If Fallujah isn't hell, it's in the same zip code." Basically, what it involved was house-to-house combat for two straight weeks. The opponents were the U.S. military and insurgents, mainly professional fighters who came from neighboring countries to be martyrs. They were not going to run, and considered death an honorable one with their cause. That, and large doses of adrenaline-pumping drugs, made them unbelievably dangerous. As mentioned here,"this urban combat was chaotic, loud and extremely tense."

What the troops had to face was going house-to-house, searching for these guys and trying the secure the area despite the fact that opening a wrong door brought a barrage of immediate gunfire aimed at their heads. Also, both sides used hand grenades a great deal.

Running from place to place with heavy arms and armor in brutally hot conditions made these soldiers very tough guys, themselves. How they accomplished the mission will wear you out just watching.
