Another Great Episode from Season #1 of Ewoks
ja_kitty_7115 March 2010
Here is my second favorite episode from Season 1; it is also the last episode in Season 1.

The episode begins with Wicket, Teebo, and Paploo enjoying a camping trip in the hills when they heard Dulok voices from afar, so the boys went to investigate. The Duloks were hunting a maramu, a creature that is like a cross between a mountain goat and a kangaroo. And the Duloks would have caught it, but they were scared away by a mysterious female Ewok known as "The Red Ghost." After the Duloks run away, Wicket, Teebo, and Paploo go to the animal and help remove the net and set it free. However, "The Red Ghost" thinks they are trying to hurt the animal. But after she sees they mean no harm, she summons a korrina (a wolf-like creature), which, to the surprise of the Ewoks, allows her to ride it. The three frightened Ewoks fly away in their gliders, with Paploo proclaiming he would never again return to that section of the forest. Back at Bright Tree Village, Wicket tells Kneesaa about the encounter. She suspects that the "Red Ghost" may in fact be her long-lost sister, Asha, who was thought dead when a hanadak killed her mother, Ra-Lee. That night, Kneesaa heads out to find the Ewok she has convinced herself must be her sister; of course, Wicket accompanies her. Overall, I love this episode as it confronts some serious issues about family, which I do not mind at all.

I love it when Kneesaa sneaks to Wicket's hut and says, "You can help me by telling me exactly where you saw her (Asha)." Wicket gives his best directions as he tries to remember. And then he said, "Oh, kvark! I can't let her go off alone."
