Haze is something of a anomaly. On one hand, it has some pretty bad level design, stupid A.I, boring weapons, ugly graphics...yet I'm incapable of hating it. Haze is by no means nothing on the level of something like Half-life, Call of Duty or even Free Radical's own Timesplitter games but is it definitely isn't the worst game on the market.
Haze is pretty much saved from eternal damnation in video game hell by some pretty fun and interesting ideas, which give the game it's own identity. Nectar is fun to mess about with, but ultimately it's the rebels who steal the show. Few things are as satisfying as kicking a mantel trooper in the groin, or stealing their guns straight from their hands only to shoot them in the face with it. Haze also has online and split-screen co-op, which is always fun, even if all you do is rip the game to shreds.
Personally though, the thing that pisses me off about Haze the most, is the fact it wastes such a great concept with bad-dialogue and voice acting. The amount of things Free Radical could have done with Haze's concept could have made Haze something truly great, but no, they wasted it.
Overall, Haze will not appeal to many people but if you like the look of it and given it some thought, buy it...cheaply. It's not perfect but it's enough to shed out £10 for.
ALSO! If you do get it, do a 1 vs 15 game with yourself and bots. It's good fun.
