The Magnificant Justice Ducks
hellraiser73 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Warning do not read unless seen episode.

This is part two of the two parter. Here Darkwing Duck is just at his lowest point, he learns the hard way as usual the follie of his egocentric ways which have put the city in a stranglehold, though it's really funny when we hear the Fearsome Five took over in just five minutes; yeah that's a record by any villain/supervillain standards, though this is a parody on how easily in the comics villains or supervillain are able to take over a country or any place else under their control almost without much explanation.

However, we even see each of the Justice Ducks are also at the lowest point, we see each of them have their conflicts with the five. In the conflict it seems like they each have the upper hand but unfortunately as we see fate has thrown each into a sucker punch.

Negaduck as usual is great as well as a show steeler. This episode just has some of the best scenes with him. One is when he has each of the Justice Duck member in death traps not even the Adam West Batman could escape. It's just funny how in Negaduck's monologuing how he says, "When I Pull the Switch!" with such gusto and different variations.

We then see him get to the board with the dreaded switch, that part is really funny because it's a parody on the delayed suspense element but also why the heck would Negaduck bother building extra switches that do nothing.

Another is when there is some argument with his Fearsome Five on the spoils. This of course turns Negaduck's teed off meter up to the extreme hot degree. And Negaduck then takes out a chainsaw, where the heck he stores in is anyone's guess. But he both solves the problem while attempting to kill all four of them at the same time; yeah therefore everyone should know better than to tee off Negaduck.

Darkwing Duck of course swallowing his pride, comes to the rescue and then of course it's game time as it's both the Justice Ducks and Fearsome Five face off. Will Justice trumph over Fearsome evil, you'll just have to watch and find out.

Justice Ducks versus Fearsome Five
TheLittleSongbird6 May 2018
'Darkwing Duck' has always been a show dear to my heart. One of those favourites from a young age that holds up really well, and is even more entertaining through adult eyes from appreciating the writing and stories even more.

Have been on a roll reviewing individual episodes for certain shows, animated, non-animated and of as many genres as possible (many as part of certain quests), and decided to do it with 'Darkwing Duck' and some others. Something that, as expected and hoped, has proven to be a more than worthwhile project and experience. "Just Us Justice Ducks: Part 2" is to me one of the show's best episodes, just like the equally brilliant first part.

Simply adored the Justice Ducks, particularly Stegmutt (hilarious) and Gizmoduck, and the villains (with Megavolt and Negaduck two of my favourites of the show, Bushroot is my least favourite of the Fearsome Five but only because the other four are as good as they are) are all as fun as ever. All in a way that it didn't feel like there were too many characters.

The animation is very colourful and atmospheric as always however. The music matches what is going on perfectly while it is impossible to forget one of the catchiest theme songs in animation.

Writing is witty, very funny without being too silly and thought-probing without being complicated. Things don't get too childish and it is all easy to follow. The story is compelling and lively in pace without being rushed, and executes a great idea imaginatively without being too silly or frightening. Darkwing is an immensely likeable and fun title character and Launchpad never fails to bring a smile to my face. Gossalyn adds a lot of spunk and really spices things up even more, she is not a brat neither is she too overly-cute.

Jim Cummings fits Darkwing like a glove, it is always lovely to hear him in non-villain roles when he excels just as well in them. His Negaduck is both sinister and exuberant. Christine Cavanaugh is a major part of why Gossalyn works so well as a character, and Terence McGovern is note-perfect for Launchpad. All the voice acting is terrific, from the likes of Hamilton Camp, Dan Castellaneta, Jack Angel and Michael Bell.

Overall, brilliant. 10/10 Bethany Cox

Absolutely amazing

This was an awesome 2 parter. The fearsome five are as entertaining aa ever and Negaduck (as always) is the best character. The writing also feels Sharper and more confident now with the meta humor about superhero media. The whole "Kill Negaduck!" Scene had me rolling on the floor. Also the way Negaduck gets defeated by looney tunes-ask slapstick is amazing. Would have been 10/10 if the fearsome five had more screen time.
